Where does my donation go when I request prayers for the living or the deceased?
In accordance with our non-profit purpose as well as Tibetan Buddhist tradition, all offerings made along with prayer and phowa requests are used only in support of the dharma. The Phowa Foundation puts these donations into a "generosity fund" which is used to accumulate merit on behalf of the person for whom the prayers were offered. Some uses of our generosity fund in the past have been: to build/repair stupas in Tibet; to sponsor large tsok offerings or other prayers and practices that benefit beings around the world; to offer butter lamps; and to support individual practitioners in retreat. Anyen Rinpoche and Allison offer their services to you to fulfill the needs of you and your loved ones, and rejoice in the opportunity to support the dharma through your generous offerings.
